Sleepwalk by Brian Setzer Orchestra ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- SLEEPWALK - BRIAN SETZER ORCHESTRA ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by: Chris Parker (Chris_Parker) Hey, so this is my sixth tab (written). I've been in love with this song ever since I heard it, so I'm happy I figured it out. It's a cover of Santo & Johnny's Sleepwalk instrumental, if you didn't already know. An essential element to playing this song is that you need to play it very clean on the bridge pick-up. Also, if you have a delay pedal, set the delay time to have the delays coincide with the timing of the played notes in the intro arpeggios with two delays to give it it's essential sleepy triplet feel. My amp settings (through an Ibanez Artcore AF75): Volume: 5 Master Volume: About 1, but set it to taste as long as it isn't overdriven Gain: 0 Treble: 8 Middle: 4 Bass: 5.5 Reverb: 3-4 I have switches on my amp for "Hi Boost" and "Mid Boost", and I put the Hi Boost on and the Mid Boost off. So here's the song! MAIN PROGRESSION C Am Fm G7 |---------8--------------5------------1-----------3-|-----| |---------8--------------5------------1-----------3-|-----| |---------9--------------6------------2-----------4-|-----| |------10---10---------7---7--------3---3-------3---|-3---| |---10---------10----7-------7----3-------3---5-----|---5-| |-8----------------5------------1-----------3-------|-----| That marked-off section is completely optional. However, the way I play it, I just hold the mini-chord for the time it would take to strum those last optional notes (two beats, basically). (I tend to only hit the higher notes of the chords, so that's what I tabbed. Also, I mute the lower notes of the chords for a dreamy feel.) |-8---5----1--3--4-3-1---8---5--1--3--4/64--3/53--0--0---1--------------| |-8---5----1-----4---1---8---5--1-----4/64--3/53-----1---1--------------| |-9---5----1-----4---1---9---5--1-----4/64--2/42-----2---1-1-1-2/4-4-5--| |-------------------------------1-----3/53--2/42-----2---------3/5-5-5--| |-------------------------------3------------3/53-----0------------------| |--------1----------------------1------------3/53--------1---------------| |---3p2p1p0----------------------------------0--1--1--8-10-12-12(b-r)-| |-----------3p2p1p0--------------------------1--1--5------------------| |-------------------3p2p1p0------------------2--1--0--9-10-12---------| |---------------------------3p2p1p0----------2--1--4------------------| |-----------------------------------3p2p1p0--0--3--5------------------| |-----------------------------------------------1---------------------| |---------------8---5--6-6-9--6--3--3-/53--0-0-1------------0--| |-6-8-8(b)-8-6--8---5--8-8-11-8--5--3-/53----1-1------------1--| |-7-9-9(b)-9-7--9---5--8-8-10-8--4--2-/42----2-1------------0--| |-----------------------------8--3--2-/42----2-1----4----4--2--| |--------------------------------3------------0-3-/5-5-/5-5--3--| |--------------------------------3--------------1---------------| |----------------------------------8-10-12-----| |----5-8-6-5(h)6(p)5-----------------------9-8-| |---x----------------7-5-----------9-10-12-8-7-| |--x---------------------8-7-5-------------9-8-| |-x----------------------------8-7---------8-7-| |----------------------------------------------| BRIDGE |-5-12-10-8-8--13-13-13-8---11-10-9--/8-6-5-4-3-| |-6-13------9--17-15-13-8---14-13-12------------| |-5-14------10-14-14-13-9---12-11-10-/9-7-5-4-3-| |-7-15------10-15-15-15-8---11-10-9-------------| |-8---------------------10--13-12-11------------| |-5---------------------8---11-10-9-------------| |------5-8-6-5(p)6(h)5---------------------------------------------| |-----x----------------8-6-5---6-5---------------------------------| |----x-----------------------7-----7-5---5-------------------------| |---x----------------------------------8-----53---------------7-9-| |--x---------------------------------------8------8-7-5/7-9-10-----| |-x----------------------------------------------------------------| |--------------------8-11-10(p)9(p)8-10-8------------------------| |-------------------x---------------------9(b)-9-8--11--8------8-| |------------------x-----------------------------9--12--9-----8--| |----------8-10---x------------------------------9--12--9----9---| |-/8-10-11-------x-------------------------------x--x---x--10----| |---------------x--------------------------------8--11--8--------| |------10(b)-7-----5---------------------------------------| |-8-10--------8-----5--------------------------------------| |--------------9-----5------------------3-5----------------| |---------------10----7-6(p)5(p)3-3-5-6-----6-5(h)6(p)5-3--| |----------------------------------------------------------| |----------------------------------------------------------| |------------------10-12-13-13(b)----15-1312-----------------------| |---------------10----------------------------15(p)13----------13---| |----------9-10-------------------12------------------12-14(b)------| |-----9-12----------------------------------------------------------| |-/10---------------------------------------------------------------| |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |-----------13--15--13--17--15--17--17---------------------15(b-r)-13-| |-15(b&hold)--15--15--15--15--15--15--15-15(release)-13-15------------| |---------------------------------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------------------------------------------| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |-15(b)-15-13-8--------------------------------------------------------| |---------------11-10(p)8 10(p)8----8----------------------------------| |--------------------------------10---10-8-10-8----8-------------------| |-----------------------------------------------10---10-8-10-86-8-6---| |--------------------------------------------------------------------8-| |-1-3-2-1--3--8--| |-1-5-4-3--3--8--| |-1-4-3-2--2--7--| |-3-5-4-3--2--7--| |----------------| |----------------| END Basically you can play this song as long as you want (kind of). By that I mean as you can repeat and vary the playing of the main theme as long as you keep it all relevant and together and progress through all the parts of the song. Okay, hope you had fun! I found a rough tab of this somewhere that had some really wacky chords and such on it, so I cleared it up, mixed it with my knowledge of the song, as well as how it is shown played on a DVD I have. Thanks! Message me if you have any questions, or just leave a comment.
