Here's a better version of a classic. 
It's hard work to learn, but sound amazing when you've got it.

Better if bottom E gets tuned down to D, but not essential - 
if playing with standard tuning, any time the bottom string 
is played open, just play the D string instead.

One of the keys to whole grove is the bit in bar 8. On the 
g string where I've written --020----, it's really a hammer 
on and off the 2 again to an open string. 
So --020----. 
(Sorry didn't know ho to write it)

This groove from D to G is so cool when you get it.

It basically repeats these shapes until the end which is one 
of the coolest things I've ever learned on the guitar.

It repeats the last two bars over and over until the ending - 
slows down over 2 bars. if possible hold the D chord at the 
start and go down scale to arpeggio on end D, using pull 
offs to get some of the notes.
