Space Monkey by Placebo Note: This tab was the product of a research for educational purposes. Do not post this another website, even if I had acknowledged it, you can not and may not do so. Ok here it goes::: Space Monkey by Placebo - Music and lyrics by Placebo and or by respectful band members First off I lowered my guitar from E to D#, just so you know. The "s" in between the numbers below to slide, and when you slide from a number to another, you don't struck the strings because the sound will play by itself, if you have never done this before, practice with this: ------------------------ SLIDE TUTORIAL I want you to place your finger on the second row fingerboard on the tickest string you on your guitar, now i want you to hit the string once while having your finger on the and slide it to the third row of the fingerboard without hitting it again, what you just was two sounds in one by hitting the string once. Here's a visual example of what you done. D# |--2s3----------| G# |---------------| C# |---------------| F# |---------------| A# |---------------| d# |---------------| ------------------------ Knowing this we may proceed with the tab. --- INTRO --- (this part is not played by a guitar, as far as i know it's all computer work there, but still like playing it with effects that sounds as spinechilling as that.) D# ||--------------------------------------------- | G# ||----7-9-7-9----7-9-7-9----7-9-7-9----7-9-7-9- | C# ||-11---------11---------10---------10--------- | F# ||--------------------------------------------- | A# ||--------------------------------------------- | d# ||--------------------------------------------- | PLAY | INTRO D# |---------------------------------------------- | TWICE G# |---7-9-7-9---7-9-7-9---7-9-7-9---7-9-7-9------ | C# |-7---------7---------7---------7-------------- | (x2) F# |---------------------------------------------- | A# |---------------------------------------------- | d# |---------------------------------------------- | --- VERSE 1 --- (It's often nice to play the verse with powerchords, i've seen people do it all the But I think the verse on the track doesn't have a powerchord sound to it. I play it as the way, with distortion but not too much, and I play the 2(13x) softly palm muted, but I of the palm mute on slides and onces i go back to the 2(13x) I palm mute again) D# |-2(x13)-2s4-4-4-4-2(13x)-4s5-5-5-5------------ | G# |---------------------------------------------- | C# |---------------------------------------------- | F# |---------------------------------------------- | A# |---------------------------------------------- | d# |---------------------------------------------- | D# |-2(x13)-2s4-4-4-4-2(13x)-4s5-5-5-5------------ | G# |---------------------------------------------- | C# |---------------------------------------------- | F# |---------------------------------------------- | A# |---------------------------------------------- | d# |---------------------------------------------- | D# |-2(x13)-2s4-4-4-4-2(13x)-4s5-5-5-5------------ | G# |---------------------------------------------- | C# |---------------------------------------------- | F# |---------------------------------------------- | A# |---------------------------------------------- | d# |---------------------------------------------- | D# |-2(x13)--------------------------------------- | G# |---------------------------------------------- | C# |---------------------------------------------- | F# |---------------------------------------------- | A# |---------------------------------------------- | d# |---------------------------------------------- | Jumping to CHORUS part, end of VERSE (no more palm muting, and one suggestion: start this part softly, and little by little increase the sound by hitting it harder, it makes it really good.) (yea, there's this sound right before he says that, it sounds like a guitar whistling minute 3:14, here is how you do that.) I've been here for 2 hours listening to the song and trying to make it a decent tab. My and eyes hurt so much, so I wont be finishing the last part of the song. I hope you my tab so far, I might make another tab to show how to play the ending. Thank you.
