Almost Ready by Dinosaur Jr Dinosaur Jr. - Almost Ready Tabbed by Kerwin Mendoza alright, first of, this is my version of the song, the WAY I PLAY IT. it's not 100% since i only bothered to figure out the melody and added my own things in between. i'll just the chords for rhythm. LEAD (use vibrato all over) G D C G D C ----------------------------------------------------------------------------| -------12-13-12-------------------------------------------------------------| -12-14----------14-12-14b16b14-12-11-12-11----------------12-1211-11/12/14-| -------------------------------------------12-------12-14-------------------| -----------------------------------------------12/14------------------------| ----------------------------------------------------------------------------| G D C G ---------------------------------------------15b17-15-14-15-12--------| ------12-13-12-----12----15b17-15-13-12-13-12-------------------------| -12-14--------14b16(hold)---------------------------------------------| ----------------------------------------------------------------------| ----------------------------------------------------------------------| ----------------------------------------------------------------------| D C G -------12--------15----------------------------------------------------| -15b17(hold)-(17)---17r15-15---12-12-12-13-12-13b15-13-----------------| -----------------------------------------------------------------------| -----------------------------------------------------------------------| -----------------------------------------------------------------------| -----------------------------------------------------------------------| D C G D C -----------------------------------------------------------------------------| 12-12-12-13-12----------12-12-12-13-12-15b17-15-13p12--12-----12-------------| --------------14b16r14-------------------------------14--14b16---14p12-12/11-| -----------------------------------------------------------------------------| -----------------------------------------------------------------------------| -----------------------------------------------------------------------------| G D C G -------------------------------------------------------------------------| -----------------------------------------------12-13-12-13b15-(15)-13----| ------------------------------12-1211/12-12h14--------------------------| ------12-14b16r14-14p12--12h14-------------------------------------------| -12p14-----------------14------------------------------------------------| -------------------------------------------------------------------------| D C ----------17b19r17-15------------------------------------------------| -------15------------------------------------------------------------| --14/16--------------------------------------------------------------| ---------------------------------------------------------------------| ---------------------------------------------------------------------| ---------------------------------------------------------------------| VERSE: Open G, Open G, Open D, Open C CHORUS: I think J plays either power chords or even just the root notes based on live performances. G5, G5, D5, C5 BRIDGE: There's some notes played during Em (it's not hard too hard to figure out) and i bend the A on the 3rd string instead of playing a G the first time around. Em, Em, C, G Em, Em, C, D D4 D GUITAR SSOOLLLOOO!! Note that this isn't TOTALLY correct, but this is how i play it. I usually play the main of the solo and then play around with the Em pentatonic or the G major scale. -17b19r17-15-14-15-14-17b19-17-15-14-15-14------------------------------------| -------------------------------------------15b17-15--12-13-13b15-13-13p12-----| --------------------------------------------------------------------------14--| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------| ------------------------------------------------------------------| -12------12-------------------------------------------------------| ---14b16(hold)16r12-1211-11h12p11-12b14-12-12p11---11------------| -------------------------------------------------12----12---------| ------------------------------------------------------------------| ------------------------------------------------------------------| a good old pentatonic run. i stole this from good times, bad times by zeppelin but it's pretty general lick i think. these are more or less triplets. -------------------------------------------------15b17-15------------------| ----------------------------------12--12h15p12-----------------------------| -------------------12--12h14h12-14--14-------------------------------------| -------12h14p12--14--14----------------------------------------------------| -14-14---------------------------------------------------------------------| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------| OR YOU CAN END IT LIKE THIS (if you are so inclined to jam as many notes as possible in four bars) i usually start playing this around two beats BEFORE the last four bars of the solo so i fit it all in. -----------------------------------------------------12--12-15h12-15b17--15-| --------------------------------------12--12-15p12h15--15-------------------| -----------------------12--12-14p12h14--14----------------------------------| --------12--12-14p12h14--14-------------------------------------------------| 14-14-14--14----------------------------------------------------------------| ----------------------------------------------------------------------------| and that's it, remember to use crazy vibrato on your bends or just all the time. i use to compensate for my lack of a big muff or all those other effects. HAVE FUN. comment if you like, i'd be interested to hear them.
