Max Payne 2 Main Theme Ver 1 by Theme Music Theme Music - Max Payne 2 Main Theme ver 1 guitar tab I called this song Max Payne 2 instead of Max Payne (like the other tabs for this song), because the theme song for Max Payne 2 feels more developed that the former, which consists solely of a piano. I'll be noting the general instruments used in the actual song, just for reference. I find it to be played easiest in Drop C (D,A,F,C,G,C). The tempo is very slow. My Yamaha keyboard's metronome clocks it around 33 or 34. I dunno if that would apply to other metronomes, though probably would. = slide down / = slide up (nothing too fancy here) ~Part 1: Cello Intro D|----------------------- A|----------3---1-------- F|------0-2---2---2------ C|--0-3-------------3---- G|---------------------4- C|----------------------- This repeats three times, with long pauses in between. The fourth repetion consists of the same thing, with an added end. The whole thing is shown below. D|-------------------------------------- A|----------3---1----------------------- F|------0-2---2---2--------------------- C|--0-3-------------3--------2---2-3-0-- G|--------------------4--1-0---0-------- C|-------------------------------------- Same as the first part, but with the second half; conludes the intro. Let the final C note ring, recommended until feedback decides to kick in. ~Part 2: Low Strings D|------------------------------------------------------------------ A|------------------------------------------------------------------ F|--7-7-------------7-7-----------7-6-6-----------6-7-7------------- C|--7-7-------------7-7-----------7-6-6-----------6-7-7------------- G|--5-5-------------5-5-----------5-4-4-----------4-5-5------------- C|------------------------------------------------------------------ Continue like so, simply moving up and one fret every other measure. This intrudes just as the open C string is placed in the cello part. Listen to the song to hear when this part cuts off. ~Part 3: Violin D|---------------------------------------------------- A|---------------------------------------------------- F|-----------------------------------------6---------- C|--0-7---7-7-8-7----7----7-0--7---7-7-8-7----7----7-- G|----------------7----------------------------------- C|---------------------------------------------------- This overlaps the previous part after that one has played through twice, I believe. D|----------------------------------------------------- A|----------------------------------------------------- F|----------------------------------------------------- C|--0-7---7-7-8-72-/7----7-0--7---7-7-8-7/11-7----7-- G|--0-7---7-7-8-72-/7----7-0--7---7-7-8-7/11-7----7-- C|--0-7---7-7-8-72-/7----7-0--7---7-7-8-7/11-7----7-- Same thing, really. Special for all you single-finger power chorders, like me. Makes nice for metal renditions. ~Part 4: Mid Strings D|--------------------------------------------------- A|--------------------------------------------------- F|--------------------------------------------------- C|--8-7-0-2-3-0-8-7-0-2-3---8-7-0-2-3---8-7---------- G|------------------------4-----------4-----7-8-7-5-- C|--------------------------------------------------- This part replaces the previous part after its course once. Itself, it repeats twice, before resuming the previous part once more, which runs one time through again. ~Part 5: Converging Strings After that, the strings converge in a pleasant mess of background chords, and the same tune to the intro (which is all that matters). This is the specific form that plays. D|-------------------------------------- A|----------3---1----------------------- F|------0-2---2---2--------------------- C|--0-3-------------3--------2---2-3-0-- G|--------------------4--1-0---0-------- C|-------------------------------------- It plays twice. ~Part 6: Finale D|------------------1--0------------------------------------------------1--0---- A|----------3-2---------------------3-2-----2-------------------3-2------------- F|--0-2-3-5------2--------0-0-2-3-5------2------------0-0-2-3-5------2---------- C|------------------------------------------------------------------------------ G|------------------------------------------------------------------------------ C|------------------------------------------------------------------------------ D|-------------------------- A|------------4-3-2-0------- F|--0-0-2-3-5--------------- C|-----------------------0-- G|-----------------------0-- C|-----------------------0-- Note: The higher instruments cut off at that open A strings, then a pause, And then the Basses and Cellos and such finish with a quiet C. Those final 4 notes before the C power chord are the only things I'm a little sketchy about. Everything else I'm sure is correct. Use how ever you'd like, and, y'know, don't do anything illegal. I didn't write this song and neither did you. Enjoi!
